An Evening of Laughter and Generosity with Angels of Comedy in Los Angeles
Los Angeles Comedy Benefit Supports Wildfire Victims
Los Angeles, CA – On February 13, a night of laughter and community spirit unfolded at the historic Engine Co. No. 28 as Los Angeles magazine collaborated with KNEKT TV to host the "Angels of Comedy" event. The comedy benefit aimed to raise funds for victims affected by the wildfires in the area, with proceeds directed to the Pasadena Community Foundation.
Set in one of the city’s oldest firehouses, attendees enjoyed a hearty spread, including Firehouse Chili with beef and vegan options, accompanied by cornbread and a selection of drinks from Garrison Brothers, Golden Eagle Vodka, Mezcal 33, and DTLA’s Boomtown Brewery. Evening host Sharon Fredrickson introduced a roster of local talent, featuring performances by Ashley Burgess, Kwame Siegel, Sandy Stec, Peter S. Kim, Maxi Witrak, Kim McVicar, Renee Percy, and Carla Collins, ensuring that laughter resonated throughout the night while supporting a worthy cause.
Special appearances were made by the February Cover Artists of Los Angeles magazine, Guerin Swing and Robert Vargas, who showcased their individual magazine covers. The event gained momentum through support from sponsors such as Boomtown Brewery, Garrison Brothers, Gelato Festival, Hollywood Creative Alliance, KNEKT TV, and Mezcal 33.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of Los Angeles first responders and the Pasadena Community Foundation for their efforts supporting the Pasadena Fire Foundation and assisting wildfire victims. Their contributions to helping displaced families, supporting overwhelmed first responders, and rescuing animals underscored the significance of the event. “Los Angeles has always been a city of resilience. This event brought our community together through comedy and generosity to support those who need it most. Let’s stay L.A. Strong,” said Chris Gialanella, President & Publisher.
As Los Angeles continues its recovery from the devastation of recent wildfires, the "Angels of Comedy" event emerged as a beacon of hope, illustrating that through laughter and collective effort, the city’s spirit remains unwavering. With an impressive turnout and notable generosity, the evening showcased the power of community solidarity. The performances from "Angels of Comedy" are now available for streaming, with proceeds benefiting the Pasadena Community Foundation through February 25.
