An elementary school in Alhambra was placed on lockdown Tuesday as police conducted a search for a suspect linked to an assault.
Officers diligently patrolled the streets north of Garfield Elementary School in a bid to locate the individual. Specific details regarding the assault case have not been disclosed at this time.
The lockdown was implemented shortly before the scheduled release of students for the day. Consequently, students were released to their parents and guardians one at a time as the situation unfolded.
