New Images from Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender Surface Online; Paramount Looks Into It
A full version of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender has reportedly leaked online, sparking frustration among fans over Paramount’s decision to forgo a theatrical release in favor of a streaming debut.
Over the weekend, a user on X shared clips of the unreleased film, claiming that the footage was “accidentally emailed” by someone within Nickelodeon. This user also threatened to release the entire movie unless Paramount provided a trailer for the animated feature.
Despite copyright notices being issued to the posts, the film has gone viral as other users continue to share the content.
Paramount has opted not to comment publicly due to an ongoing investigation into the source of the leak. However, sources close to the matter have indicated that there is no evidence to suggest that it originated from a security breach within Paramount’s systems.

In response to the leak, animator Julia Schoel, who contributed to the film, expressed her disappointment on X, stating, “We worked on the aang movie for years with the expectation that we’d get to celebrate all of our hard work in theaters, just to see people unceremoniously leak the film and pass our shots around on Twitter like candy.”
Schoel criticized “Paramount’s awful decision to remove the movie from theaters to justify leaking it,” deeming it “disrespectful to all the hard work the artists put in.”
Directed by Lauren Montgomery, with Steve Ahn and William Mata, the film centers on Avatar Aang, the last Airbender, who discovers an ancient power with the potential to save his culture from extinction. Accompanied by his friends, he embarks on a quest to secure this power before it falls into the wrong hands, jeopardizing the peace they have fought hard to achieve.
The film features an ensemble voice cast, including Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Dee Bradley Baker, Freida Pinto, and Ke Huy Quan, alongside previously announced actors such as Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, Dionne Quan, Román Zaragoza, and Steven Yeun.
