Alan Cumming Gives Exciting Update on the ‘Romy & Michele’ Sequel Filming
Alan Cumming is set to return as Sandy Frink in a long-awaited sequel to the beloved film Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion this summer. Cumming’s recent announcement adds exciting momentum to the upcoming project, which will also feature co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino.
In an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show, Cumming shared, “And then, this summer, we’re going to do the sequel of Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion.”

The sequel will see Kudrow and Sorvino take on executive producer roles, with Tim Federle directing. Original writer Robin Schiff has returned to craft the script.
Kudrow revealed last year that Schiff had delivered a “really good” script for the follow-up, noting that they were as close as they had ever been to making it happen: “So it’ll happen, I mean, we’ll see.”
The original film, which features Janeane Garofalo, Justin Theroux, Elaine Hendrix, and Camryn Manheim, has garnered a cult following nearly three decades after its initial release.
