Aidy Bryant Joins ‘SNL’ to Celebrate Bowen Yang and Share Fresh Trends
Aidy Bryant Makes Triumphant Return to Saturday Night Live
Aidy Bryant returned to Saturday Night Live on Saturday night, marking her first appearance on the show since her departure in May 2022. The Emmy-nominated actress stepped back into Studio 8H to support Bowen Yang, who was honored with a send-off during the broadcast.
Bryant and Yang revived their beloved Trend Forecasters characters during the Weekend Update segment. The duo humorously informed anchor Michael Che that their trend analysis was being sourced from a “very huge, sweaty, rock hard computer.” Among the trends discussed was a possible Rush Hour 4, with Yang quipping, “Thanks Trump.”
Bryant was a notable cast member from Season 38 through Season 47 and featured prominently as the Trend Forecasters during 2022. Her absence had left a noticeable gap, especially for Yang, who previously expressed reluctance to perform the segment without her.
“I would never dream of doing it without Aidy,” Yang told Entertainment Weekly. He added, “I feel like the next time we do it is when Aidy comes back to host. I feel like that day will be much sooner than we think…she is just going to be everyone’s boss at some point in show business.” Yang’s hopes reflect a desire for their comedic collaboration to continue in the future.
