Overview
- Rapper 50 Cent has two sons.
- His eldest, Marquise Jackson, was born in October 1996.
- His younger son, Sire Jackson, was born in September 2012.
50 Cent, the rapper known for his prolific music career, is also a father to two sons. The artist, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, welcomed his first child, Marquise Jackson, with Shaniqua Tompkins in 1996. His second son, Sire Jackson, was born in 2012 with Daphne Joy.
Although 50 Cent became a father before his rise to fame, his relationship with his firstborn son has been notably complex. Marquise and 50 Cent have experienced estrangement over the years, with much of their tension publicly aired, particularly highlighted by a controversial Instagram comment made by the rapper in 2018.
Conversely, 50 Cent’s bond with Sire appears to be more positive, as the rapper frequently shares moments with his younger son online.
Here’s a closer look at 50 Cent’s two sons.

Marquise Jackson, born in October 1996, is 50 Cent’s elder son with Shaniqua Tompkins. The couple had an on-and-off relationship during the ’90s, culminating in a protracted custody battle that was officially resolved in October 2008. During this period, 50 Cent expressed his concerns about changing dynamics in their relationship, attributing some of these challenges to tensions between him and Tompkins.
The custody arrangement granted 50 Cent visitation rights, typically allowing him to see Marquise one weekend each month. However, a source revealed in 2018 that they had been estranged for some time.
Reflecting on their relationship, Marquise stated in a 2017 interview, “It completely went south when I was probably like 10 or 11.” He described how the lack of his father’s presence affected his perception of him as a superhero in his early years.
The relationship took a turn for the worse in December 2018. 50 Cent made a provocative remark on social media regarding a photo of Marquise posing with the son of a known rival, stating, “If both these little n—— got hit by a bus, I wouldn’t have a bad day.”
After significant backlash, 50 Cent later stated that he held no ill feelings toward anyone and attributed his estrangement with Marquise to the influences surrounding him and the financial support he provided during their years apart.
In October 2022, the ongoing discord was further highlighted when Marquise offered $6,700 to spend 24 hours with his father, sparking discussions online about their strained connection. 50 Cent responded during an interview, claiming that he believed Marquise was not genuinely interested in reconciling.
Despite the tumultuous relationship with his father, Marquise has pursued music, releasing his first single, “Different,” in 2017.

Sire Jackson, born in September 2012, is 50 Cent’s younger son with ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy. Their relationship appears to be warmer, with 50 Cent often sharing affectionate moments with Sire on social media.
On Father’s Day in 2019, 50 Cent tweeted a photo with Sire, expressing his close bond with him. In December of the same year, he treated Sire to a private shopping spree at a Toys “R” Us store, creating memorable moments for the young boy.
The pair also made appearances together at public events, including the season 2 premiere of *BMF* in January 2023, where they notably coordinated their outfits.
However, the relationship between 50 Cent and Sire’s mother, Daphne Joy, has been turbulent. In March 2024, she accused the rapper of serious misconduct, claiming sexual and physical abuse. 50 Cent has denied these allegations and emphasized the need to protect his son amid ongoing legal proceedings regarding custody.
The rapper had previously faced domestic violence charges in 2013 related to an incident involving Joy, for which he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.
The evolving dynamics within 50 Cent’s family illustrate a complex interplay of fame, fatherhood, and ongoing legal disputes.
