Glendale Residents Encouraged to Retrieve Unclaimed Funds
Glendale Residents Urged to Check for Unclaimed Funds
The city of Glendale is encouraging residents to review their records for any unclaimed checks and deposits that have been outstanding for over three years. If these funds remain unclaimed, they will be transferred to city accounts.
In compliance with state law, city officials will publish a list of unclaimed funds in a local newspaper for two consecutive weeks. This list will identify individuals and organizations that may be eligible to reclaim their money.
According to the city’s Finance Department, any unclaimed funds that are not claimed within 45 to 60 days of the initial notice will become the property of the city. Officials noted, "Some smaller amounts, such as unclaimed funds under $15 that have been outstanding for over a year, may automatically be transferred to the City’s General Fund without public notice."
Residents can search for unclaimed funds on the city’s website or its online unclaimed property portal. Claims can be submitted either online or by filing a form with the Finance Department. It is important for residents to submit their claims by June 30 to avoid losing their funds.
