Canneseries Moves 2027 Dates to February After Thoughtful Review
Canneseries, the prominent French television festival, has announced a schedule change, moving its dates to February. This adjustment positions Canneseries ahead of the competing Series Mania on the calendar.
The tenth edition of the festival is set to take place from February 11 to 16, 2027. The ninth edition is concluding this week after six days filled with screenings and discussions featuring notable figures such as Richard Gadd, David Bernad, and Noah Hawley.
Laetitia Recayte, who has stepped in as the new festival chief following the retirement of Benoit Louvet, commented, “This move in February is the result of careful consideration: we want to offer a more relaxed, more intense and completely independent experience to mark our tenth anniversary.”
The upcoming February schedule will serve as a trial run, with plans for it to potentially become a permanent feature if successful.
This strategic change also ensures that Canneseries precedes Series Mania, the Lille-based festival that similarly emphasizes scripted content.
Canneseries was launched in conjunction with MIPTV in 2018. Following the conclusion of MIPTV’s 61st edition in April 2024, the drama-focused festival has operated independently during the same month for the past two years.
