Police Pursue Stolen Work Truck on Freeways North of LA
Chase of Stolen Work Truck Prompts Freeway Pursuit Near Los Angeles
Officers were engaged in a pursuit of a driver operating a stolen work truck on the freeways north of Los Angeles Wednesday morning.
The vehicle, a pickup loaded with what appeared to be traffic signs and orange road markers, featured a message board mounted on its roof. Markings on the truck’s doors indicated it belonged to Traffic Management.
The pursuit began around 9:30 a.m. when the truck was reported stolen near Western and Franklin avenues in Hollywood. Following its theft, the truck traveled on the 5 Freeway through the San Fernando Valley before heading north onto the 14 Freeway, moving into the Santa Clarita area.
During the chase, a sedan intermittently slowed and briefly stopped in front of the truck in the Palmdale area, prompting a momentary halt. It remains unclear whether the driver of the sedan was a law enforcement officer.
Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
