KATSEYE Introduces New EP ‘Wild’ During Manon’s Break: Release Date Inside
Trending on Billboard
KATSEYE is currently enjoying significant success. Following the release of their new single “Pinky Up” and an energetic performance at Coachella’s first weekend, the girl group has announced the upcoming EP titled Wild.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, April 15, revealing that the EP will be released on August 14 via HYBE x Geffen Records. The project is set to include five tracks, with “Pinky Up” featured among them, as noted on its countdown page on Spotify.
Although the EP’s cover art remains undisclosed, members Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae commemorated the announcement on Instagram. In a lighthearted video, they excitedly shared, “They don’t know we’re about to announce our new EP, Wild,” which was juxtaposed with footage of the immense crowd they performed for at Coachella over the weekend.
This upcoming release marks KATSEYE’s first EP since last year’s Beautiful Chaos, which achieved a notable No. 4 position on the Billboard 200 and includes hits like “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.” Additionally, it is the group’s first multitrack project since member Manon was placed on hiatus to “focus on her health and well-being.” Her absence was notable in the music video for “Pinky Up,” released on April 9.
After making their debut at Coachella on April 10, the remaining five members are scheduled to return for the second weekend on April 17. In a pre-performance interview with Zane Lowe, Sophia expressed their support for Manon, stating, “Manon has been on hiatus, and we love her so much, and we know that she’s doing well … we’ve gone through so much with each other.”
Lara reinforced this sentiment, saying, “I think we also want to say she’s our sister forever. We love her so much, and we built this together. So we just want to give her all the space and love she needs right now.”
