Celebrities Who Found New Homes for Their Pets: Jen Affleck, Rachel Leviss, and Others
Celebrities Open Up About Difficult Decisions to Rehome Pets
Rehoming a pet is often a challenging decision, and several celebrities, including Rachel Leviss and Jen Affleck, have recently voiced their experiences on the matter.
Rachel Leviss, known for her role on Vanderpump Rules, first introduced her dog, Graham Cracker, to fans during her relationship with James Kennedy. After their breakup in 2021, Leviss retained primary custody of Graham Cracker, who was a gift from her parents. However, her ownership became contentious following an affair with co-star Tom Sandoval, which ended his long-term relationship with Ariana Madix.
In spring 2023, Leviss entered a mental health facility, leading fans to speculate that her dog had been taken in by her family during her 90-day stay. By July 2023, Kennedy revealed that he was caring for the dog, now renamed Hippie. This change followed an incident involving Leviss’s mother, after which trainers facilitated the rehoming of the pet through Lisa Vanderpump.
Andy Cohen faced a different situation with his dog, Wacha, whom he adopted from a kill shelter in West Virginia in 2013. In May 2020, Cohen announced that, for the safety of his son Benjamin, Wacha would need to find a new home. “Numerous professionals led me to the conclusion that my home is simply not a good place for him,” Cohen explained via Instagram. “Keeping him here could be catastrophic for Ben and worse for Wacha.”
Cohen has since documented his reunion with Wacha over the years and later welcomed a daughter, Lucy.
In April 2026, actress Meagan Good admitted that she had to rehome her cat upon moving in with husband Jonathan Majors.
These stories reflect the emotional complexities involved in rehoming pets, a subject increasingly discussed by celebrities who find themselves navigating personal challenges.
