2026 BAFTA Film Awards Scheduled for February 22 in London
The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards will be held on Sunday, February 22, at London’s Royal Festival Hall. As part of the ongoing awards season, the ceremony is anticipated to offer insights into voting trends ahead of the Oscars on March 15.
The event will be broadcast in the UK on BBC One and via iPlayer starting at 7 p.m. GMT. In North America, viewers can watch the ceremony on E! at 8 p.m. ET, with E! taking over as the rights-holder in the U.S. Additionally, BAFTA will stream key moments and winner speeches on its social media platforms.
The celebration will commence at 5 p.m. GMT, with winners announced in real-time; however, the event will not be available for live viewing on the BBC.
Local presenter Alan Cumming, known for his work on The Traitors, will host the awards for the first time, succeeding last year’s host David Tennant. Cumming previously hosted the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards.
Entertainment for the evening will include a performance of “Golden” by Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, artists from the Netflix series KPop Demon Hunters. Jessie Ware will contribute a musical tribute during the ceremony’s In Memoriam segment.
Leading the nominations this year is One Battle After Another, which has received 14 nominations, including for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. This marks the second-highest total of nominations for a single film, following Gandhi’s impressive 16 nominations in 1983.
The Sinners follows closely with 13 nominations, including nods for Director and Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler. This year also marks Michael B. Jordan’s first BAFTA nomination in the Best Actor category, as well as a Best Actress nomination for Manchester native Wunmi Mosaku.
Dame Donna Langley, chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment, will receive this year’s BAFTA Fellowship, the highest honor from the arts charity. Clare Binns, creative director of PictureHouse Cinemas, will be awarded BAFTA’s Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema prize.
An array of nominees expected to attend includes renowned figures such as Michael B. Jordan, Timothée Chalamet, and Jessie Buckley, along with numerous others from various fields in the film industry.
