Tricia Tuttle’s second edition as director of the German festival has presented challenges compared to her inaugural edition in 2025. This year’s controversy stemmed from remarks made by jury president Wim Wenders during the opening press conference, where he suggested filmmakers should refrain from engaging in politics—a statement that has generated considerable debate regarding its interpretation.
Wenders was joined on the jury by an international panel that included director and producer Min Bahadur Bham from Nepal, South Korean actor Bae Doona, Indian director and producer Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, American director and screenwriter Reinaldo Marcus Green, Japanese director and producer HIKARI, and Polish producer Ewa Puszczyńska.
Updates on the award winners will be available throughout the evening.
