Garner and Ruffalo Reunite at Golden Globes
Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo rekindled their on-screen chemistry at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, held on January 11, 2026. The two actors, known for their roles in the 2004 romantic comedy 13 Going on 30, were seen enjoying a friendly conversation at a pre-awards dinner at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Garner, aged 53, and Ruffalo, aged 58, shared smiles as they reminisced about their time together in the beloved film, which centers on Jenna Rink, a 13-year-old girl who magically transforms into a 30-year-old woman navigating adulthood while working as an editor in New York City. Ruffalo played Matty, Jenna’s childhood friend and eventual love interest, alongside co-stars Judy Greer and Andy Serkis.
At the awards ceremony, Ruffalo received a nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama for his role in the HBO series Task. Competing against notable actors like Sterling K. Brown, Diego Luna, Gary Oldman, and Adam Scott, Ruffalo’s performance garnered significant attention. However, the award went to Noah Wyle for his role in The Pitt.
Reflecting on 13 Going on 30, Ruffalo expressed in November 2024 that it is frequently the film fans approach him about, often citing the memorable scene where his character goes on a late-night quest for Razzles candy with Garner’s character.
Garner shares similar sentiments about the film, recalling it as a favorite memory from her career. In an April 2024 interview, she remarked, "It was the biggest paycheck any of us had ever had, even though it was not crazy," highlighting how the film significantly boosted their careers. As 13 Going on 30 celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024, both actors reflected on the impact it has had on their lives and careers.
