Mina Starsiak Hawk’s children are eagerly anticipating her return to HGTV with the new season of Rock the Block.
The renovation expert tells PEOPLE that her son Jack and daughter Charlie are “very excited” to watch the show, which is set to premiere in early 2026.
After spending eight successful seasons renovating homes in Indianapolis on Good Bones, Mina is now part of a design competition that features four teams transforming identical properties in Las Vegas.
During a recent visit to the set, her children expressed their enthusiasm, asking, “Mom, when are you going to build houses again on TV? The cameras aren’t around anymore. When are we going to do that again?” Mina reflects, “They really enjoyed it.”

Mina will team up with retired NFL player Vernon Davis in the seventh season of Rock the Block, marking the first time that HGTV stars collaborate with celebrities who share a passion for design.
The lineup includes Scott McGillivray and Brooke Hogan, Taniya Nayak with singer Drew Lachey, and Kim Wolfe paired with former Survivor star Chelsea Meissner.
She adds, “Vernon, my partner, who’s a giant ex-NFL player, would just physically move someone that he didn’t want where they were. I’m pretty sure Brooke tackled him a couple of times because she’s a tall lady as well.”

Mina felt confident teaming up with Davis due to his 15-season NFL career. “Knowing his position and how long he played, I was like, no matter what, he’s going to be a good teammate,” she says, recognizing that successful athletes understand the value of collaboration.
Having previously judged on season 6 of Rock the Block, Mina cites her biggest challenge as shifting from a judged position to a competitor. “Every decision I made would be measured against the judging standards I had previously set,” she explains. “While it offers an edge, it also led to constant mental gymnastics.”
As of October 2023, Mina concluded the eight-season run of Good Bones, where she collaborated with her mother, Karen E. Laine. A three-episode spinoff focusing on their new beginnings premiered in August 2024, highlighting separate projects in different states.
