2026 Saturn Awards: Christopher McQuarrie Honored with Tom Cruise Presenting, Plus James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd Celebrating ‘Aliens’ Recognition
The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films has unveiled an impressive roster of special achievement honorees for the 53rd Annual Saturn Awards.
The prestigious Visionary Award will be presented to producer, director, and Oscar-winning writer Christopher McQuarrie, with Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise serving as presenter. The George Pal Memorial Award will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic film Aliens, with director James Cameron and producer Gale Anne Hurd accepting the honor. The Saturn Hall of Fame Award will pay tribute to the enduring legacy of Star Trek, featuring participation from William Shatner, Alex Kurtzman, and Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry. Additionally, the Lance Reddick Legacy Award will be awarded to Titus Welliver, co-star of the late actor’s series Bosch.
These special honorees will be celebrated during the annual Saturn Awards ceremony, which recognizes outstanding achievements in science fiction, fantasy, horror, superhero, and action-adventure storytelling across film and television. Leading the film nominations this year are Warner Bros’ record-setting Oscar contender Sinners, along with James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash and Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Established in 1972, the Saturn Awards remain unique as the only awards program dedicated solely to recognizing genre entertainment.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Universal Hilton and will be streamed live at SaturnAwards.tv. Comedian Joel McHale will host the event.
