Zach Bryan Cancels Tulsa Concert Because of Severe Weather: A First for Him
Trending on Billboard
Country singer-songwriter Zach Bryan announced the cancellation of his concert in Oklahoma, marking the first time he has ever called off a show. The performance, originally scheduled for tonight, has been scrapped due to severe weather conditions.
In a message shared on his social media accounts, Bryan addressed his “fellow Oklahomans,” stating, “I am being forced by my team to cancel the show tonight due to the threat of extreme and dangerous weather.”
“I’ve never canceled a show in my life but I unfortunately don’t have a choice in the matter,” he added.
Bryan also reassured fans that ticket refunds would be processed automatically through original points of purchase.
Currently, Bryan is on his With Heaven on Tour, scheduled to perform two consecutive shows at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa. He confirmed that tomorrow’s concert on April 4 will still go ahead as planned.
The cancellation follows predictions of severe storms impacting the Tulsa area, which are expected to bring dangerous winds and heavy rains. Bryan shared a screenshot from a member of his team detailing conversations with local authorities and meteorologists who collectively deemed the situation unsafe for concertgoers. The message concluded with, “I know you’re gonna hate me for this, but we have no choice but to cancel the show.”
Bryan’s incredulous reply was, “Are you kidding?”
His tour, which supports his Billboard 200-topping album With Heaven on Top, commenced on March 7 in St. Louis. Following the Oklahoma leg, he will continue through Kentucky, North Carolina, Nebraska, Mississippi, and Ohio, before embarking on a European segment starting in late May.
