Young Boy Raises Funds to Attend Fuerza Regida Concert and Catches Hearts Online
Young Boy in Corona Works Hard to Attend First Concert
A 12-year-old boy from Corona is making concert dreams come true by diligently raising funds to see his favorite band, Fuerza Regida. Ian Fernandez is using creativity and determination to secure tickets for himself and his parents, selling candy and offering household chores to neighbors.
Fernandez has gained notable attention on social media as he shares his journey towards affording concert tickets. Along with candy sales, he has taken on various tasks, such as sweeping and taking out the trash, to generate the necessary funds.
"I listen to Mexican music in general," Fernandez explained. "A couple of years ago, I heard them and I really liked them. And I also saw that JOP comes from San Bernardino and he’s from hard-working Mexican parents like me, and I like that the most."
The upcoming Fuerza Regida tour, which includes a performance at Dodger Stadium on July 18, has sparked Fernandez’s motivation. Upon learning about the event, he proposed the idea of working towards the tickets to his parents.
His mother, Jazmin Lopez, expressed pride in her son’s entrepreneurial spirit. “He says, ‘I like to have his own money.’ Mom and dad always make it happen. We’re always there, of course. There is no need for him to work, but I support the spirit that he has.”
As of Monday evening, tickets for Fuerza Regida’s tour are priced starting at $90. Despite recognizing the high costs, Fernandez remains resolute in his goal to attend the concert with his parents.
“Sometimes in life, not everything will be handed to you and you have to work for things because life can be hard sometimes,” he noted.
