Wrenn Schmidt and Ellyn Jameson Join HBO Max Pilot ‘American Blue’
Wrenn Schmidt, known for her role in For All Mankind, and Ellyn Jameson from Marshals are set to become series regulars in the HBO Max pilot American Blue.
The one-hour drama centers on Brian “Milk” Milkovich, portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia, who returns to his hometown of Joliet, Illinois, to assist a struggling police force while seeking personal redemption.
Schmidt will take on the role of Lori Gillespie, a determined and self-deprecating attorney, who is Milk’s ex-wife and mother to their daughter, Talia. Meanwhile, Jameson will portray Erin “Oz” Ostrowski, a proactive JPD tactical officer who faces a critical challenge in her career.
They join a previously announced ensemble that includes Ventimiglia, Kelly Jenrette as Meg Jackson, Carlito Olivero as Mike Ortiz, Onye Eme-Akwari as Darryl Andrews, Jess Gabor as Suze Dombrowski, and Eddie Kaye Thomas as Sergeant Paul “PJ” Booker. The cast also features Paulina Olszynski as Lisa “Matty” Matichak, Algee Smith as Andre Quick, Jeremy Bobb as Joe Bebar, Rich Sommer as Ray Kaluza, and Jesse Garcia as Kevin Martinez.
The project was first reported to be in development back in January. American Blue is produced by Jeremy Carver, known for his work on Supernatural, under an overall deal with Warner Bros Television. David Ayer will direct the pilot.
Carver serves as both writer and executive producer alongside Brian Udovich, Neil Reynolds, and Ayer. Ventimiglia is involved as a co-executive producer, collaborating with his longtime producing partner, Russ Cundiff. Warner Bros Television will produce the pilot.
Schmidt is represented by Greenlight Management, Innovative Artists, and Peikoff Mahan, while Jameson is represented by Trademark Talent and CESD.
