Burbank Police Arrest Woman for Attempting to Sell Stolen Sports Trading Cards
A Los Angeles woman was apprehended in Burbank after allegedly attempting to sell high-value sports trading cards valued at approximately $10,000, as reported by NBC4 Investigates.
The incident unfolded when employees at a card shop located on Hollywood Way near Magnolia Boulevard notified Burbank police regarding suspicions that the woman was trying to sell possibly stolen merchandise.
Following their investigation, authorities confirmed that some of the cards in question had been reported missing after being shipped via the U.S. Postal Service. Police later verified with the original owner that the cards were indeed stolen property.
In addition to the stolen cards, police discovered narcotics during a search of the home of the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Jasmine Alexander. She has since been arrested and booked on charges of possession of stolen property and a controlled substance.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have yet to clarify how Alexander, who is a certified surgical technologist, gained access to the USPS mail and was able to identify the shipment.
