Woman Charged After Shooting Incident at Rihanna’s Home in Los Angeles
A woman was taken into custody on Sunday, March 8, after allegedly firing shots into the Los Angeles-area home of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. The Los Angeles Times reported that police responded to a shooting call at 1:21 p.m., detaining a 30-year-old woman in connection with the incident.
According to authorities, at least ten shots were fired at the residence from a vehicle parked across the street, penetrating the mansion’s wall. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The gunfire left bullet holes in the front gate and in an RV parked in the driveway. Reports from ABC7 indicate that Rihanna was at home during the shooting, but nobody was harmed.
After the shooting, the suspect, driving a white Tesla, fled the scene. Law enforcement shared a description of the suspect, noting her braided hair and cream-colored shirt, and mentioned that the car’s undercarriage was dirty. A police helicopter later located the vehicle at a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where officers arrested the suspect approximately 30 minutes after the 911 call was made.
“When they pulled the suspect over and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and located an assault rifle and seven casings,” said LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias. NBC reported that the weapon used was an AR-15-style assault rifle.
Rihanna reportedly resides in the home with her partner, A$AP Rocky, and their three young children. It remains unclear whether all family members were present at the time of the shooting, and a request for comment from a representative of Rihanna was not immediately answered. This incident is not the first troubling occurrence at one of Rihanna’s homes; in 2018, a man spent over 12 hours inside her Hollywood Hills residence before being discovered.
As of now, law enforcement has not released additional information about the suspect or a possible motive behind the shooting.
