West Hills Family’s Truck Stolen, Suspects Caught on Camera
Truck Stolen in West Hills Amid Rising Crime in San Fernando Valley
LOS ANGELES – A West Hills family has become the latest victim in a series of robberies plaguing the San Fernando Valley, as their truck was stolen during a brazen theft captured on home surveillance. The incident occurred on Saturday morning, heightening concerns among local residents.
Surveillance footage shows four suspects, seemingly dressed in similar attire, walking in the vicinity of Highlander Road just days prior to the theft. These individuals appeared to be canvassing the area before targeting the family’s vehicle, which was left with a shattered window. The video captures one suspect reaching through the broken glass to access the truck.
"We have a neighborhood watch down the street; we’re pretty vigilant over where we’re at," one resident remarked, reflecting a shared sentiment among neighbors who are increasingly cautious following recent break-ins.
The worry escalated after another incident earlier in the week in which a Woodland Hills home was burglarized while children were inside, leaving the family frightened and on edge.
Longtime residents of West Hills expressed surprise at the recent surge in crime, noting that the neighborhood has historically been quiet and safe. "It’s very safe; it’s a really pleasant neighborhood. People have lived here for a long time; they’ve raised children, so I mean I’m not going anywhere," one resident shared.
As anxiety grows, local community members are calling for increased vigilance, aiming to retain the neighborhood’s sense of security. FOX 11 is currently awaiting updates from the LAPD regarding the identity of the suspects involved in this latest theft.
