Virginie Efira Joins UTA After Cannes Competition Films ‘All Of A Sudden’ and ‘Parallel Tales’
EXCLUSIVE: United Talent Agency (UTA) has officially signed acclaimed Belgian and French actress Virginie Efira for representation.
This week, Efira is making her mark at the Cannes Film Festival, where two of her films are premiering in Competition: Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s Soudain (All of A Sudden) and Asghar Farhadi’s Parallel Tales. Her performance in Alice Winocour’s 2022 drama, Paris Memories, earned her the César Award for Best Actress, adding to her impressive record of five additional nominations. Throughout her career, Efira has worked with notable directors such as Paul Verhoeven, Justine Triet, Rebecca Zlotowski, and Catherine Corsini.
Efira gained significant international recognition for her role alongside Isabelle Huppert in Verhoeven’s Elle. She received César nominations for her performances in Triet’s In Bed with Victoria and Sibyl. She later collaborated once again with Verhoeven in Benedetta, which debuted in Competition at Cannes in 2021.
Her extensive filmography also includes Zlotowski’s Other People’s Children, the Disney+ series Tout va Bien, and Vie Privée, which features Jodie Foster and was released in the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics. Despite her new representation, Efira continues to be represented by Agence Adequat and Agence Pulp in France.
