Victoria Beckham’s Lace Slip Dress at Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz’s Wedding: A Closer Look
Brooklyn Beckham Opens Up About Estrangement from Parents on Instagram
In a series of candid Instagram Stories posted on January 19, 2026, Brooklyn Beckham addressed his estrangement from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, shedding light on a reported family feud that has persisted since his 2022 wedding to actress and heiress Nicola Peltz.
Brooklyn stated, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled; I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” He detailed troubling incidents surrounding his wedding, including claims that Victoria canceled plans to make Nicola’s wedding dress shortly before the ceremony. “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he expressed. He added that Victoria’s actions left him feeling "uncomfortable and humiliated" in front of their guests.
The wedding, which has become central to ongoing public speculation about the Beckham family’s dynamics, featured both Brooklyn and Nicola facing pressure from their families. Brooklyn elaborated, “My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”
In light of these familial tensions, fans have recalled the dramatic details of the 2022 nuptials. Many are curious about Victoria’s choice of attire for the occasion; she wore a striking metallic slip dress of her own design, inspired by the “reflection of moonlight on the ocean at night.” Reports indicate that she later changed into a black pre-fall outfit during the celebrations.
Nicola Peltz, speaking to Variety shortly after the wedding, clarified misconceptions regarding the dress controversy, explaining, “I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it.”
In the meantime, Brooklyn revisited the topic of the dress cancellation on Instagram, alleging, “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.” Ultimately, Nicola wore a Valentino Haute Couture gown designed in collaboration with former Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli.
The couple later renewed their vows on August 2, 2025, reportedly without the presence of Brooklyn’s family. “We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” Brooklyn conveyed in his Instagram Stories. The ceremony was officiated by Nicola’s father, billionaire Nelson Peltz, as Brooklyn and Nicola shared affectionate glimpses of their special day, highlighting their commitment to each other amidst the ongoing familial strife.
