Vanessa Kirby and Lewis Pullman Star in New Film ‘The Spacesuit’ with HanWay Films Handling Sales
Actresses Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a Woman, Fantastic Four: First Steps) and Lewis Pullman (The Testament of Ann Lee, Thunderbolts*) will headline the upcoming feature The Spacesuit, directed by Kitty Green (The Assistant).
Sales representation for the film has been secured by HanWay Films, while the UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance will handle distribution in North America.
HanWay Films emphasized the film’s relevance, stating it arrives at a time of “renewed global focus on space exploration,” coinciding with the recent Artemis II mission to the moon. The storyline follows an astronaut, portrayed by Kirby, who faces an impossible decision after a perilous incident with her co-pilot, played by Pullman, complicates their mission and sparks a frantic race against time.
This collaboration marks another project for Green alongside producers James Schamus (The Wedding Banquet, Brokeback Mountain) and Scott Macaulay (Raising Victor Vargas, Saving Face). Additional producers include Joe Pirro (We Grown Now, The Wedding Banquet), Rita Walsh (The Wolves Always Come at Night), and Kath Shelper (Samson and Delilah, The Royal Hotel). Executive production will be handled by Vanessa Kirby and Juliet Kirby, through their company Aluna.
Green garnered attention with The Assistant, a film exploring sexual harassment within a film production company, which premiered at Sundance in 2020. Her subsequent work, The Royal Hotel, premiered in 2023 and starred Julia Garner, known for her role in Ozark.
