UCLA Secures 19th Consecutive Win with Strong Victory Over Indiana
UCLA Women’s Basketball Triumphs Over Indiana, Extends Win Streak to 19 Games
The No. 2 UCLA women’s basketball team secured a commanding 92-48 victory against Indiana at Pauley Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. Lauren Betts delivered a standout performance, achieving a first-half double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, ultimately finishing the game with 16 points. She was among seven Bruins who scored in double figures.
UCLA (25-1, 15-0 Big Ten) dominated the game, particularly in the second quarter, where they scored 30 points to establish a significant 47-20 halftime lead. Notably, Charlisse Leger-Walker contributed 10 of those points in the second quarter. Kiki Rice, who had a slow start with just two points in the first half, rebounded impressively, leading the team in scoring with 15 points in the second half.
Indiana (14-13, 3-12) struggled to find their rhythm, shooting only 31.3% from the field, significantly below their season average of 47.9%, which ranks fifth in the Big Ten.
With three remaining games before the Big Ten tournament, UCLA’s next challenge comes against Washington on Thursday at 7 p.m. PST. A win for the Bruins or a loss for Michigan would secure the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament.
