Ventura Police Apprehend Two Men After High-Speed Pursuit on Unregistered Electric Motorcycles
VENTURA, Calif. – Ventura police arrested two men on felony charges Thursday afternoon following an intense pursuit involving unregistered electric motorcycles. The incident unfolded when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, prompting the riders to flee the scene.
On Thursday, police observed two individuals near Victoria Avenue and Telegraph Road riding electric motorcycles that were not registered. When officers attempted to initiate a stop, the suspects accelerated and led police on a high-speed chase through residential streets and a shopping center, violating multiple traffic laws in the process.
During the pursuit, one rider eventually ceased his flight and was apprehended. The second suspect managed to escape initially but was located and arrested shortly thereafter. The individuals have been identified as 25-year-old Daniel Juarez and 19-year-old Diego Juarez.
Both motorcycles were subsequently impounded, and the men face felony evading charges along with several vehicle code violations. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
In the aftermath, the Ventura Police Department issued a reminder to the community regarding the importance of adhering to traffic laws when operating electric motorcycles and similar vehicles. “Reckless riding behavior puts the rider and everyone nearby at serious risk,” the department stated.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are seeking any additional information related to the incident. The Ventura Police Department encourages anyone with knowledge to contact their 24/7 non-emergency line.
