Clad in a black T-shirt and sporting a buzz cut, Chalamet’s affectionate moment with the dog captures a slice of his life amid his current promotional activities for his upcoming film, Marty Supreme.
While the breed and name of the puppy remain undisclosed, it is unclear whether the dog is a new pet or a friendly companion Chalamet encountered during his film’s promotion. The Instagram carousel also provides a peek into Chalamet’s personal life, featuring him in cozy Christmas pajamas and enjoying the outdoors in casual attire.
In one image, a screenshot of a text exchange reveals Chalamet promising his mother a coveted Marty Supreme jacket ahead of the film’s premiere.
Chalamet stars in Marty Supreme, a project directed by Josh Safdie, which tells the story of a young man whose dream of excelling in the world of ping-pong is not taken seriously. This character draws loose inspiration from Marty Reisman, a Jewish American table tennis pioneer who passed away in 2012.
"I had to play a role that resonates deeply with who I was before my career," Chalamet said in an October interview, highlighting the personal significance of this project.
Notably, the actor has spent years training in ping-pong, developing his skills even while filming various projects, including his role as Bob Dylan in the Oscar-nominated film A Complete Unknown in 2024. "I had a table in London while I was making Wonka," he shared, illustrating his dedication to mastering the sport across multiple locations and major film festivals.
Marty Supreme is set to hit theaters on December 25.
