The now-deleted clip, initially reported by News.com.au, showcased Blue Wiggle Anthony Field and his nephew Dominic Field—who plays The Tree of Wisdom—dancing alongside Holiday while he promoted his new single “Ecstasy.” The chorus features the line: “Hey girl, come on, dance with me / You and your pocket full of ecstasy,” which drew criticism from viewers who believed it blurred the lines between children’s entertainment and adult themes.
The clip surfaced shortly after Holiday’s performance at the TikTok Awards on November 26, where The Wiggles joined him on stage for a rendition of his song “Dancing2.” During the performance, Anthony played the bagpipes while Dominic showcased his dance moves alongside Holiday’s partner, broadcaster Abbie Chatfield.
In response to the controversy, a spokesperson for The Wiggles assured The West Australian that the group does not support or condone drug use in any form and that the video was made without their approval.
“We understand that a video circulating on social media has caused concern for many parents and professionals, and we want to address that directly,” the spokesperson stated. “The Wiggles do not support or condone the use of drugs in any form. The content being shared was not created or approved by us, and we have asked for it to be removed.”
The statement clarified that while Holiday has been a long-time friend of the group, the music in the clip was added after their appearance at the TikTok Awards. “While Keli Holiday (Adam Hyde) is a friend of The Wiggles, the video and the music added to it were created independently and without our knowledge,” the spokesperson explained. “Our performance at the TikTok Awards was family-friendly and fun, and this video was edited together separately and without our awareness.”
The group concluded by reaffirming their dedication to families, stating, “We deeply value the confidence families place in us and remain committed to creating safe, positive, and educational experiences for children and families in Australia and around the world.”
Earlier this month, Holiday released “Ecstasy,” describing the track as a spontaneous idea developed during sessions with Golden Features and Belgian singer Romanie, before it was finalized with producer Konstantin Kersting.
