The Cast of ‘Industry’ Shares Their Passion for the Final Season Ahead of Release
As HBO’s acclaimed financial thriller Industry prepares for its fifth and final season, the cast expresses a commitment to pushing boundaries to deliver an unforgettable finale.
The recently concluded fourth season, which aired its final episode on March 1, showcased characters Harper (Myha’la) and Yasmin (Marisa Abela) navigating the high-stakes world of finance. Both graduates of Pierpoint, they find themselves embroiled in a gripping cat-and-mouse game following the rise of a flashily popular fintech company in London. As Yasmin explores her relationship with tech entrepreneur Sir Henry Muck (Harington) and Harper becomes entangled with the enigmatic Whitney Halberstram (Max Minghella), their complicated friendship faces mounting pressures from money, ambition, and personal desires.
Reflecting on the show’s evolution, Abela remarked, “I think that we all really try and gnaw on the bone of this show. I think the show has gotten better and better. But I think since Season 1, what’s made it special is that we attack it. We just go pretty hard on it… I hope it has people standing on the sofas on a Sunday night at the end being like, ‘What the hell?!’”
Co-creator and showrunner Myha’la also emphasized the unique opportunity of knowing this season would be the last. “I feel like that’s a privilege and a gift that not everyone has. My hopes and dreams are just to go into it and tear it to shreds. I want to go so hard there’s nothing left of me,” she stated passionately.
The ensemble cast includes Ken Leung, Miriam Petche, Sagar Radia, Toheeb Jimoh, Charlie Heaton, Amy James-Kelly, Roger Barclay, Andrew Havill, Kiernan Shipka, Kal Penn, Jack Farthing, Stephen Campbell Moore, Claire Forlani, and Edward Holcroft. Myha’la noted the rarity of portraying flawed, complex characters that allow for growth, asserting, “This is like the definition of representation… We’re like, ‘Here is a piece of the world dramatized for you.’”
She further added, “I want to go into this last one, making sure I leave everything on the floor and giving Harper her justice because she deserves it. This show deserves it.”
Industry is produced by Bad Wolf for HBO/BBC and boasts a team of executive producers including Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther, and Ryan Rasmussen. The writing team features Mickey Down, Konrad Kay, and Joseph Charlton, with direction from Down, Kay, Michelle Savill, and Luke Snellin.
The anticipation for the final season of Industry continues to build as fans look forward to the concluding chapter of this compelling narrative.
