Taylor Swift Leads American Music Awards Nominations
Taylor Swift, the artist with the most American Music Awards (AMAs) wins in history, has secured eight nominations for the upcoming 52nd AMAs. This includes high-profile categories such as Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for The Life of a Showgirl, and Song of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia.”
The nominees were announced on Tuesday, with Swift recognized alongside other notable artists. The list features first-time nominees Olivia Dean and Sombr, both with seven nominations, competing for New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Breakthrough Album of the Year.
Additional first-time nominees include Alex Warren, BigXthaPlug, Katseye, Leon Thomas, PinkPantheress, Raye, Role Model, Sienna Spiro, and Tate McRae. Also making her debut in the nominations is Teyana Taylor for Best Female R&B Artist.
The announcement was made by CBS and Dick Clark Productions. The awards ceremony is set to be hosted by Queen Latifah and will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Memorial Day, May 25.
This year’s nominees from the film segment include the voices of HUNTR/X from KPop Demon Hunters—EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami—recognized in Song of the Year and Best Vocal Performance categories for their song “Golden,” which recently won an Oscar for Best Song.
Swift, who leads the nominations with eight, is followed closely by Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sombr, each with seven nominations. Other prominent names include Alex Warren and Lady Gaga, with six nominations each.
