During the Christmas Day football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, celebrated artist Taylor Swift brightened the holiday for one Arrowhead Stadium employee.
Robyn Gentry, who shared her experience on Facebook on December 28, recounted how Swift approached her, expressing gratitude for her work over the holiday. “She was running around telling everyone Merry Christmas and came towards me, saying thank you so much for working on Christmas, please take this, Merry Christmas,” Gentry wrote.
Gentry was taken aback, saying, “My mind just froze. Of course, I said Merry Christmas and thank you so much. Travis and her were smiling so big and just kept saying Merry Christmas, thank you for working Christmas… I stopped to look at what was in my hand… $600. My whole paycheck for two weeks.”
She further revealed that she had allocated a similar amount for gifts for her eight children, noting the significance of Swift’s gesture. “I immediately started crying… Taylor and Travis are beautifully kind people. It’s very true, incredible and very kind people.” Gentry even framed one of the $100 bills Swift gifted her.
Swift’s parents were also present to support their daughter’s fiancé during the December 25 matchup, which marked the Chiefs’ final home game of the NFL season. Speculation is rife regarding the future of tight end Kelce, with many wondering if this may be his last home game as he considers retirement.
Kelce addressed retirement rumors during the game, stating, “I’ll let that be a decision I’ll make with my family, friends, the Chiefs organization when the time comes,” adding he was experiencing “a whole lot of emotions,” according to ESPN.
Since they began dating, the 14-time Grammy winner has attended all of Kelce’s Christmas games. On December 25, 2023, she sported an “87” Santa hat while watching him compete against the Las Vegas Raiders.
This holiday season, Swift’s generosity extended beyond the stadium. Reports indicate that she made significant donations to Feeding America and the American Heart Association.
