Taylor Swift Fans Spot New Lyrics from ‘Reputation’ on Apple Music: ‘If He Calls Me a B—h …’

The original lyrics to several tracks from Taylor Swift’s album Reputation have undergone changes, raising eyebrows among fans. Following an update by Apple Music that added Dolby Atmos to the pop superstar’s discography, listeners discovered modifications to some of the album’s most cherished songs.
One of the most notable revisions appears in the third track, “I Did Something Bad.” The lyric “If he spends my change, then he had it coming” has been altered to “If he calls me a b—h, then he had it coming,” as reported in social media clips shared by fans.
Another change was identified in track five, “Delicate.” Instead of saying “Oh damn, never seen that color blue,” the 14-time Grammy winner now sings, “Goddamn, never seen that color blue.” This second adjustment, while more subtle, significantly affects the delivery of Swift’s vocals.
Billboard has reached out to Swift’s representative for comment on these changes.
Fans are speculating about the reasons behind these updates, with many wondering if they relate to Reputation (Taylor’s Version). The original album, released in 2017, was one of two remaining records in Swift’s series of re-recordings before she regained ownership of her entire catalog earlier this year. At that time, she mentioned that Reputation was the only album of her first six that she had not yet begun to re-record.
“Full transparency: I haven’t even re-recorded a quarter of it,” Swift noted in a letter to fans. “The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life… To be perfectly honest, it’s the one album in those first six that I thought couldn’t be improved upon by redoing it.”
Despite this, Swift did suggest that she may eventually release unreleased Vault tracks from the Reputation era.
With four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2017, Reputation remains a fan favorite. This was evident during her global Eras Tour, where audience cheers reached a crescendo whenever she donned her black, snake-themed bodysuit for the Reputation segment of the show.
Swift continues to celebrate this chapter in her career with The End of an Era, a new docuseries on Disney+ that premiered on December 12. The series details how she executed her historic tour.
