Taylor Frankie Paul’s Bachelorette Suitors Share Their Thoughts on Premature Premiere Cancellation: “That Was Her Moment”
Taylor Frankie Paul’s anticipated role as the lead in The Bachelorette has been abruptly halted, with ABC announcing the show’s premiere will not take place as planned.
The reality dating series was set to feature the star from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. However, the network decided to withdraw the show following allegations of a domestic violence incident involving Paul, including a video from earlier this year in which she is seen physically attacking her ex-partner.
In the wake of this announcement, several of Paul’s suitors expressed their feelings on social media.
Doug Mason shared on his Instagram Stories, “In light of everything that’s happened, I’m just sending out prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked. All we can do right now is be hopeful. Let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.”
Malik Evans also took to Instagram Stories, stating, “I’m doing okay. Hope to share more soon. Thank you to everyone who has reached out.”
Matthew Carroll reposted a video covering the cancellation and added, “On pause for now. Thank you for everyone’s support and thoughtful messages.”
Johnnie LaRossa expressed gratitude for the outreach, saying, “Appreciate everyone reaching out. Grateful for the experience. I’ve gotta say the group of guys were truly unbelievable. Nothing but respect for them. Love you boys, and any woman would be lucky to have each and every one of them!”
Clayton Johnson wrote, “I can honestly say this was one of the best groups of men I’ve ever been around. So much integrity, respect and heart across the board. Even the tough moments never took away from that. Any woman would be lucky to be with any of these guys.”
Following the announcement from ABC, Paul released a statement through her representative.
“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security,” the spokesperson said, as reported by People. “After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”
The statement further noted, “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
