Taylor Frankie Paul is Eager for ‘Mormon Wives’ to Start Filming Again and She’s Ready to Move Forward
Taylor Frankie Paul is reportedly in a “much better place” following the resolution of her recent domestic violence dispute with ex-partner Dakota Mortensen. Sources indicate that she is eager to return to her professional life.
A source revealed to Us Weekly that Paul, 31, is hopeful for the continuation of the reality show Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. The insider mentioned, “Cameras will pick back up,” although no official confirmation has been made regarding the show’s return.
As of now, Hulu has yet to announce the resumption of filming for season five, which was paused after Taylor and Dakota’s domestic dispute in late February. According to the insider, “For now, she’s trying to mend things with the other girls so everyone can move forward peacefully” regarding her relationships with fellow cast members. The show temporarily halted production in March due to the altercation.
While rebuilding trust with her co-stars, Taylor has been relying significantly on castmate Jessi Draper for support as they both navigate challenging personal situations. Jessi, who is undergoing her own divorce from estranged husband Jordan Ngatikaura, has formed a closer bond with Taylor since recent events unfolded. The source noted, “They’ve gotten even closer lately since they’re both going through hard times and can relate to each other.”
Following the incident, Jessi was among the first to publicly show support for Taylor after law enforcement determined not to press charges related to the February altercation. In light of the situation, Taylor has received acknowledgment for her resilience. “So freaking proud of my resilient, strong and beautiful friend ❤️ @taylorfrankiepaul ily more than words,” Jessi expressed in an Instagram Story.

The disruption of filming was triggered by reports of Taylor’s tumultuous relationship with Dakota, which garnered considerable media attention. Following the incident, police began investigating footage that showed a heated argument in February, during which Taylor was seen throwing furniture as her daughter cried in the background. Both Taylor and Dakota share custody of their children, including sons from previous relationships.
In the wake of the February altercation, Taylor pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault but negotiated a plea deal that would reduce the charge to a misdemeanor in August 2026. The fallout from the incident led to the cancellation of her season of The Bachelorette, just days prior to its scheduled premiere in March.
In April, Dakota secured a temporary restraining order against Taylor and sought custody of their son, a request that was granted. Despite these challenges, Taylor received positive news when the Salt Lake City District Attorney’s Office announced on April 14 that no charges would be filed against her for the February incident.
“Taylor feels like she will bounce back from this, especially now that there won’t be any charges filed against her,” the insider remarked. “She knows her legal battle is far from over but does feel like she had a small victory.”
Both Taylor and Dakota continue to navigate their custody arrangements following the recent developments, with Taylor having also filed a temporary restraining order against Dakota earlier this month. She remains focused on her mental well-being, with close support from her castmates.
