Suspect Caught in Series of Violent Robberies Targeting USPS Mail Carriers in San Fernando Valley
Arrest Made in Armed Robbery Spree Targeting USPS Carriers in San Fernando Valley
LOS ANGELES – A collaborative effort between the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and federal agents has led to the arrest of 28-year-old Andranik Naghdalyan in connection with a series of armed robberies directed at USPS mail carriers in the San Fernando Valley.
The investigation revealed that over a three-month period, from December 2025 to February 2026, Naghdalyan allegedly carried out five armed robberies while USPS employees were on duty. In each incident, he approached the postal workers with a firearm, demanding their "arrow" keys and electronic scanners. Detectives identified a white Lexus sedan as the vehicle used during the crimes.
On February 22, 2026, LAPD officers stopped Naghdalyan’s vehicle just half an hour after the latest robbery in Sherman Oaks. He was taken into custody, and incriminating evidence was seized.
Investigation Timeline:
- December 3, 2025: The robbery spree commences at 4:40 p.m. in Valley Village.
- January 31, 2026: Another carrier is robbed in Studio City at approximately 11:20 a.m.
- February 21, 2026: Two robberies are reported within just 25 minutes in Studio City and Valley Village.
- February 22, 2026: A final robbery occurs at 12:30 p.m., leading to Naghdalyan’s arrest at around 1:00 p.m.
- February 24, 2026: The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office files five counts of second-degree robbery against Naghdalyan.
Detectives have released a photo of Naghdalyan, expressing concern that there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. They urge anyone with information related to the robberies to inform the authorities.
As the case unfolds, the implications of these robberies raise significant concerns about the safety of postal workers in the area. The LAPD continues to investigate potential links to unreported incidents related to Naghdalyan.
