Stuart Fails To Save The Universe: New Teaser and Release Date Shared for Big Bang Spinoff
First Look at Stuart Fails To Save The Universe Teaser Released
New York City—Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled the first teaser for the highly anticipated The Big Bang Theory spinoff, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, during its Upfront presentation on Wednesday. The ten-episode series is set to debut on HBO Max on Thursday, July 23, at 9 PM ET, with new episodes rolling out weekly.
The spinoff centers around Stuart Bloom, portrayed by Kevin Sussman, who owns a comic book store and finds himself in a challenging predicament after inadvertently breaking a device created by Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki). This mishap triggers a multiverse Armageddon, compelling Stuart to restore reality with the help of his girlfriend, Denise, his friend Bert, played by Brian Posehn, and the irritable quantum physicist Barry Kripke.
The teaser begins at The Comic Center of Pasadena, where Bert inquires about the situation outside, which Stuart describes as an “apocalyptic nightmare.” Bert quips, “I think there’s room for improvement,” setting a humorous tone for the series.
In a twist, an alternate version of Stuart Bloom appears, stating, “I’m you from another stream of reality,” foreshadowing the complexity of the plot. The clip also features a brief comic book drawing cameo of Galecki’s character, enhancing the connection to the beloved original series.
Lauren Lapkus co-stars as Denise, alongside Brian Posehn and John Ross Bowie as Barry. Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is written and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, co-creator of The Big Bang Theory and its spinoffs, with collaborators Zak Penn and Bill Prady. The series is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
