Stephen Colbert Welcomes ‘Strike Force Five’ Back on ‘The Late Show’ with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver, Seth Meyers, and David Letterman
As Stephen Colbert approaches the final weeks of *The Late Show*, fellow late-night hosts are banding together to provide a fitting farewell.
On Monday, May 11, Colbert will reunite with the Strike Force Five, a collaborative group formed during the 2023 Hollywood strikes. This special episode, airing at 11:35 PM ET/PT on CBS, will feature Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver, and Seth Meyers.
The five hosts initiated a podcast during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, aiming to raise funds for displaced writers while discussing industry challenges and labor issues.
In a notable appearance, Colbert’s predecessor, David Letterman, will join him on Thursday, May 14, following his outspoken commentary regarding the talk show’s cancellation. Letterman expressed his views in a recent interview with *The New York Times*.
“He was dumped because the people selling the network to Skydance said, ‘Oh no, there’s not going to be any trouble with that guy. We’re going to take care of the show. We’re just going to throw that into the deal. When will the ink on the check dry?’ I’m just going to go on record as saying: They’re lying,” Letterman stated. “Let me just add one other thing. They’re lying weasels.”
The May 11 episode will also showcase a special Broadway performance featuring Annaleigh Ashford, Christopher Jackson, Bernadette Peters, Ben Platt, and Patrick Wilson. Additionally, rock band The Strokes are set to perform on the May 14 broadcast.
Following CBS’s announcement last July that *The Late Show* would be concluding, the final episode is scheduled for Thursday, May 21. Byron Allen’s *Comics Unleashed* is set to take over the 11:35 PM time slot after its conclusion.
