Stavros Halkias Announces Exciting New Netflix Comedy Special
Stavros Halkias Signs Deal for New Netflix Comedy Special ‘Uncle Stav’
Comedian Stavros Halkias is set to bring more laughter to Netflix with his newly inked deal for a comedy special titled Uncle Stav. This agreement follows the success of Fat Rascal, which premiered on the streaming platform in 2023. Halkias is also currently working on Shane Gillis’ comedy series Tires.
While specific details about the content of the special remain under wraps, the title suggests familial themes, as Halkias frequently humorously refers to himself as a “weird uncle.”
The special is scheduled to be recorded at The Lyric in Halkias’ hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, on April 24th and 25th. Halkias will serve as an executive producer for the project, alongside Ben O’Brien, under their banner, Stavvy Baby Entertainment.
Halkias has emerged as one of the most popular young comedians today, gaining significant attention on YouTube with his debut special Live at the Lodge Room. This performance garnered over one million views within its first four days and has now surpassed seven million views. He first gained recognition as a founding member and former co-host of the acclaimed podcast Cum Town and currently hosts the successful podcast Stavvy’s World, which debuted at #3 on the iTunes Comedy Charts and quickly amassed hundreds of thousands of subscribers in its first year.
Based in New York City, Halkias is also expanding his creative endeavors into acting. He recently appeared alongside Jesse Plemons in Bugonia, an Oscar-nominated film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Additionally, he wrote, produced, and starred in the indie comedy Let’s Start a Cult. Upcoming projects include The Comeback King, a Universal comedy directed by Judd Apatow and starring Glen Powell, as well as A24’s film Tony, which focuses on Anthony Bourdain. Currently, Halkias is on The Dreamboat Tour and is represented by UTA and Schreck Rose Dapello.
