‘Star City’ Set to Launch on Apple TV+ with Historical Twist
Apple TV+ is unveiling its much-anticipated original series, Star City, a spinoff of the acclaimed show For All Mankind. Created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore, the eight-episode series will premiere globally with two episodes on Friday, May 29, followed by weekly releases of new episodes every Friday until July 10.
The series offers a fresh perspective on the space race, focusing on the Soviet Union’s efforts to achieve significant milestones, including the landmark event of landing the first human on the moon. Star City uniquely delves into the lives of cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers, showcasing the immense risks taken behind the Iron Curtain to advance humanity’s exploration of space.
Rhys Ifans headlines the cast, joined by notable actors Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O’Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara.
Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners and executive producers alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, with Andrew Chambliss and Steve Oster also contributing to the production. Star City is being produced by Sony Pictures Television for Apple TV+.

As viewers prepare for its release, Star City promises to offer a captivating and thought-provoking glimpse into a lesser-explored narrative of the historical space race.
