St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place Get a Third Season Renewal at NBC
NBC has officially renewed two of its sophomore comedies, St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place, for third seasons, set to air during the 2026-27 season.
St. Denis Medical has been heralded as “the only primetime comedy across all the broadcast networks to see season-over-season linear growth in the 18-49 demo,” excluding Fox comedies that benefit from NFL lead-ins on some Sundays. According to Nielsen, the medical mockumentary has noted a 3% increase in the demographic compared to the previous season.
The episode titled “The Name Game” from Happy’s Place, starring Reba McEntire, has emerged as the highest-rated episode of the season, leading in both viewership and demo metrics. This season, the show has seen an impressive 15% rise in its demo and a 22% increase in total viewers compared to the previous quarter’s average, as reported by NBC.
“Both St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place have delivered comedic brilliance over their first two seasons, truly connecting with our audience with hilarious characters, and remain hugely important and successful programs to our primetime and Peacock lineup,” said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content for NBC and Peacock. “A huge thank you to the producers, casts, and crews of both shows who have brought these wonderful stories to life and will now continue to tell their laugh-out-loud stories.”
Meanwhile, NBC is still deliberating on the future of Stumble, a mockumentary series created by Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof that premiered in November.

In its second season, the tavern reopens amid the revelation of a long-held secret that will test relationships and alter dynamics within the establishment. Bobbie emphasizes that family is defined by those who support you, even in the workplace.
The cast also features Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn. New episodes air Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, with subsequent availability on Peacock. Kevin Abbott serves as writer and executive producer alongside a team that includes McEntire and others. The show is produced by Universal Television.
