High School Sports Postseason Kicks Off in May
As the month of May unfolds, high school sports enthusiasts are treated to a thrilling postseason, filled with playoffs and championships across various spring sports.
Baseball
The Southern Section Division 1 final is set for Friday, May 29, at Cal State Fullerton, with additional games scheduled for May 30 at the Epicenter stadium in Rancho Cucamonga. Meanwhile, the City Section Open Division and Division I finals will take place at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, May 23.
Softball
Southern Section finals are slated for May 28-30 at Barber Park in Irvine. The City Section finals will occur on May 29-30, with the exact venue yet to be determined.
Track and Field
Southern Section finals are scheduled for Saturday, May 16, at Moorpark High, leading up to the Masters Meet on May 23. The City Section finals will be held on Thursday, May 21, at Birmingham.
Boys’ Volleyball
The Southern Section finals are taking place from May 14-16 at Cerritos College. For the City Section, finals are set for Friday, May 15, at Venice and Saturday, May 16, at Birmingham.
Girls’ Beach Volleyball
Southern Section finals are on May 2 at Long Beach City College. The City Section team final is scheduled for May 1 at Santa Monica Beach.
Lacrosse
The Southern Section finals are set for May 15-16 at Fred Kelly Stadium in Orange, while the City Section finals will be held on Thursday, April 30, at Palisades.
Swimming
Southern Section finals are scheduled for May 5-9 at Mt. San Antonio College, with City Section finals on Friday, May 8, at East L.A. College.
Boys’ Golf
The Southern Section individual final will take place on Thursday, May 21, while team finals are scheduled for May 18-19. City Section finals will occur on Wednesday, May 20, at Wilson/Harding.
Boys’ Tennis
Southern Section finals are on Friday, May 15, at the University of Redlands Claremont Club. The City Section finals are set for April 29 and May 6-7 at Balboa Park.
Stunt Cheer
City Section finals will take place on Friday, May 1, at Venice.
