Spain’s AF Films Teams Up with Charles Roven for New Action Thriller ‘Hammer Down’ as Idris Elba Bows Out
AF Films Joins Charles Roven in Producing Action Film ‘Hammer Down’
Spain’s AF Films is teaming up with producer Charles Roven, known for his work on Oppenheimer, to bring the action film Hammer Down to the big screen. Notably, actor Idris Elba is no longer attached to the project.
Roven, alongside his company Atlas Entertainment and AF Films, will co-produce the film. The project is being directed by Simon Hatt, an executive producer from Guardians of the Galaxy. AF’s Frank Ariza and his producing partner Manu Vega will collaborate with Madison Weireter and Collin Kraus from Atlas to bring the film to fruition.
Hammer Down revolves around a seasoned long-haul trucker and his determined daughter, who must confront their strained relationship while transporting a mysterious cargo across the country. With dangerous adversaries closing in, the duo must unite to navigate the challenges ahead.
“We’re excited to bring Hammer Down to life with AF Films,” said Roven, emphasizing the collaborative effort’s focus on energizing, character-driven storytelling.
Ariza echoed this sentiment, stating, “Hammer Down aligns closely with AF Films’ creative sensibilities and international production strategy. Partnering with Atlas Entertainment allows us to fully engage as co-producers while leveraging an international financing and production framework that supports the scale and ambition of the project.”
Through this collaboration, AF Films will take the lead on production efforts in Spain and other European territories.
