Snoop Dogg Shares Funny Commentary as Steve Kerr Gets Ejected in Clippers vs. Warriors Game
Snoop Dogg Makes NBA Analyst Debut Amid Clippers’ Narrow Victory Over Warriors
INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Snoop Dogg, known for his loyalty to the Los Angeles Lakers, turned heads Monday night as he made his debut as an NBA analyst during a game at the Intuit Dome.
The rapper joined established commentators Reggie Miller and Terry Gannon to provide insights during the matchup between the LA Clippers and the Golden State Warriors. Notably, the Clippers secured a narrow 103-102 victory, despite being down two starters, including James Harden.
As the fourth quarter unfolded, tensions escalated when Warriors star Stephen Curry was penalized for what appeared to be a questionable foul after executing a floater, prompting Warriors coach Steve Kerr to receive his first technical foul. Shortly thereafter, Kerr expressed his frustration over a non-call on a blocked shot by Clippers’ John Collins. Snoop Dogg reacted with enthusiasm, exclaiming, "Uh oh! Steve gonna get thrown out! Get him out of there! Get him out of there! Back him up!" Kerr was eventually ejected from the game.
In a postgame update, NBA official Brian Forte confirmed that the non-call on Collins’ block should have been ruled a goaltending violation.
The Clippers’ victory was crucial, especially considering their recent struggles. Kawhi Leonard reflected on the significance of the win, stating, "We had a tough loss the other night, but tonight we bounced back."
Snoop Dogg also shared his impressions of the Intuit Dome, saying, "It was a great game. The atmosphere, the Wall, the people, this is off the chain. I can’t even front, y’all did that. Steve Ballmer did that."
The victory comes at a pivotal time for the Clippers, who are seeking to overcome a rocky start to their season and navigate ongoing controversies, including allegations surrounding Kawhi Leonard related to a reported $28 million payout for a "no-show job." Both Leonard and Clippers owner Steve Ballmer have denied any wrongdoing as the NBA continues its investigation into the matter.
As the season progresses, the Clippers will be keen to build on this win and solidify their position in the league amidst a backdrop of scrutiny and change.
