Sinners Wins Best Film and Best Song at the Guild of Music Supervisors Awards – Full Winners List
Warner Bros’ Sinners Dominates at 16th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards
Warner Bros.’ acclaimed film Sinners emerged as the standout winner at the 16th annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, held Saturday night at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. The film secured two prestigious awards: Best Music Supervision in Major Budget Films and Best Song Written and/or Recorded for a Film for the track "I Lied to You."
Raphael Saadiq, co-writer of "I Lied to You" alongside Ludwig Göransson, was honored with the guild’s Icon Award. "I Lied to You" is also in contention for Best Song at the upcoming Academy Awards on March 15, part of a record 16 nominations for director Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. Saadiq performed the song during the ceremony, highlighting its acclaim.
In addition to Sinners, A24’s Marty Supreme and Sony’s One of Them Days were recognized for their achievements in music supervision, reflecting the diverse talent and creativity in the industry.
Television categories saw wins for several popular series. Noteworthy recipients included The Studio from Apple TV, The Lowdown from FX, and Love Island USA on Peacock. The music supervisors responsible for the trailers of Warner Bros.’ One Battle After Another and HBO’s The White Lotus also received awards.
The ceremony featured a heartfelt live performance by Diane Warren, alongside Sharon Farber and Eden Kontesz, presenting the Oscar-nominated song "Dear Me" from Diane Warren: Relentless. A tribute performance was delivered by Alejandro Aranda from American Idol, commemorating the late music supervisor Robin Kaye, who was awarded the Legacy Award posthumously. Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were tragically killed in July after confronting a burglar at their home in Encino.
The event also showcased performances by John Tesh and Keith Secola, contributing to an evening celebrating excellence in music supervision.
