Search Continues for 18-Month-Old Child Reportedly Taken by Aunt in West Covina
Police Seek Missing 18-Month-Old Boy Abducted in West Covina
WEST COVINA, Calif. – A search is currently ongoing for 18-month-old Isaiah Sunel Nava, who was reported abducted from a West Covina home on Friday night. Authorities have identified the suspect as the child’s estranged aunt, 26-year-old Amber Alexis Destiny Zarate, who is on parole and considered dangerous.
Officers responded to a kidnapping report shortly before 6 p.m. on Friday. Investigations revealed that Zarate allegedly took Isaiah from the residence. Police describe her as a known drug user with violent tendencies and indicate that she has multiple outstanding warrants.
Surveillance footage has confirmed Zarate’s presence in the vicinity during the alleged abduction. At the time, she was last seen wearing a black top and white pants, and was carrying a black backpack.
As of now, the whereabouts of both Zarate and the child remain unknown. While authorities are aware that Zarate frequents the Los Angeles area, they have not pinpointed a specific vehicle or neighborhood that may indicate her location.
