Scooby-Doo! Returns in a New Anime Series on Tubi with Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard Back in Their Roles
The Scooby-Doo franchise is set to expand with the release of a new anime series titled Yokoso Scooby-Doo, an Original series on Tubi, featuring iconic characters set against a vibrant Japanese backdrop. Notably, franchise veterans Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard will reprise their roles, voicing Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, respectively.
In Yokoso Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy embark on a culinary adventure in Japan, where they inadvertently unleash a host of mythical monsters. With the assistance of Scooby’s uncle, Daisuke-Doo, along with new companions—including a magical girl named Yume and a gadget-savvy friend named Takumi—the duo faces thrilling chases filled with monster mayhem.
Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer at Tubi, expressed enthusiasm for the project: “Scooby-Doo is one of the most beloved franchises in entertainment, and Yokoso Scooby-Doo lets us reinvent it in a way fans haven’t seen before. By bringing Scooby and Shaggy into a bold anime world set in Japan, we’re connecting with global fandoms and delivering the kind of fun, chaotic mystery that travels across generations. As we grow our animation slate, this is exactly our brand of fan-first storytelling—familiar, surprising, and unmistakably Tubi.”
