Sarah Jessica Parker Receives 2026 Carol Burnett Award at Golden Globes Eve Ceremony
Sarah Jessica Parker was celebrated with the 2026 Carol Burnett Award during a ceremony held at The Beverly Hilton on January 6. This prestigious honor underscores her significant contributions to television and storytelling.
Kristin Davis, Parker’s co-star from the beloved series Sex and the City and its sequel And Just Like That…, presented the award to Parker. The event also marked a mini-reunion of the show’s cast, with Evan Handler and David Eigenberg joining the two women on the red carpet.
Parker graced the occasion in a shimmering strapless gown by Paolo Sebastian, complemented by a cropped black blazer. Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne acknowledged Parker’s "trailblazing impact on television" and her unwavering dedication to the craft.
Davis expressed her admiration for Parker while presenting the award, revealing, “Sarah’s main fashion advice is to dress exactly how you want to and not worry about trends or fads.”
In a heartfelt moment during her speech, Davis reflected on the honor, saying, “It’s beautiful. It’s strange, because I don’t feel like we’re old enough for this to happen… but I’m thrilled.”
Parker, reflecting on her career in the acceptance speech, remarked, “I’m feeling great. It was good fortune that I was able to sort it all out… I’m proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish.” She noted the hard work that has characterized her journey, while also acknowledging the talents of others who may not have had the same opportunities.
“I feel incredibly lucky that I got to work on the kind of projects I did and learn from legends,” she added, expressing a blend of gratitude and introspection regarding her achievements.
The evening’s camaraderie highlighted the enduring bond among the cast members of Sex and the City, with Davis actively engaged in the show’s legacy through her podcast, “Are You a Charlotte?”. As they reminisced and celebrated Parker, it became evident that the impact of their shared experiences continues to resonate deeply, both with them and their audience.
Parker previously shared her thoughts about the show’s lasting cultural relevance, mentioning its impact on new generations of viewers and how it has sparked conversations across different age groups.
“This kind of humbling gratitude is very hard to find adequate words to express,” she concluded, capturing the spirit of the evening and her remarkable career.
