Sarah Ferguson Spent Time at a $17,000 Night Wellness Retreat in Switzerland Before Ex-Prince Andrew’s Arrest
Sarah Ferguson’s Wellness Retreat Prior to Ex-Husband’s Arrest
Sarah Ferguson reportedly spent nearly a month at a luxury wellness retreat in Switzerland before the recent arrest of her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Andrew, who is 66 years old, was detained on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Ferguson checked into Paracelsus Recovery shortly after Christmas and remained there through late January, incurring costs exceeding $17,000 per night during her stay. This retreat came amidst an escalating scandal involving the former Duke and Duchess of York related to their ties with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Following Andrew’s arrest—which coincided with his birthday—Ferguson’s current location remains undisclosed. Reports suggest she may have been in both the French Alps and the United Arab Emirates recently. Andrew was taken into custody at approximately 8 a.m. on February 19 and released around 7 p.m., following questioning regarding allegations of leaking classified information to Epstein while serving as a U.K. trade envoy from 2001 to 2011.
According to a source, Ferguson feels at home at Paracelsus, where she receives both care and support during challenging times. Another insider noted her longstanding relationship with the wellness center made it a natural retreat during a turbulent period.
The fallout from their connections to Epstein has intensified since the fall of 2025, culminating in both individuals surrendering their Duke and Duchess titles in October. King Charles subsequently stripped Andrew of all royal titles and privileges, and in early February, the couple was evicted from their shared residence at Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate.
Paracelsus Recovery declined to comment on Ferguson’s status due to privacy policies. The clinic offers programs with weekly costs ranging from approximately $122,000 to $154,000.
Law enforcement has indicated that while there is no evidence of wrongdoing linked to Ferguson, she may be a relevant witness in this case. A legal expert remarked that authorities might seek to question her.
In the aftermath of Andrew’s arrest, sources have indicated that Ferguson is struggling with her mental health, reportedly feeling overwhelmed and isolated.
Although Ferguson has been supportive of Andrew throughout the years, insiders suggest she’s ready to embrace a new chapter in her life, asserting that she will not move into his new residence at Sandringham. Instead, she is contemplating alternative accommodations, possibly including her daughter Eugenie’s home in Portugal.
Amidst this tumultuous backdrop, Ferguson has been described as "sofa-surfing" globally, switching locations frequently out of concern for her privacy and fear of being photographed. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of her daughter Beatrice remain uncertain, although Eugenie was spotted with her family at a Swiss ski resort shortly before her father’s arrest.
