San Bernardino Man Arrested in Connection with Fuel Card Fraud Cases
Suspect Arrested for Fraudulent Use of Fuel Cards in San Bernardino
A San Bernardino man has been arrested in connection with the fraudulent use of company fuel cards at gas stations across the region, according to police reports released on Thursday.
The arrest occurred at a gas station in Colton, where officials apprehended the suspect, who was found with over 80 counterfeit access cards. The Chino Police Department stated that the suspect’s vehicle, which has been seized for evidence, had been modified to hold significant quantities of fuel.
In addition to the cards, investigators discovered a skimming device attached to one of the gas pumps, a technique commonly used to capture card information during transactions.
Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant when fueling their vehicles. They recommend checking card readers for tampering, using pumps located closest to the store, and reporting any suspicious activity.
